In the name of Allah, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of
Mercy
As you know, Unity Foundation have been providing Islamic
adult education and Islamic awareness programmes since 2007,
via structured classes, one off seminars and periodic
Demystifying Islam programmes. At this stage in our
development we aim to expand on this provision, offering
more classes, much needed support for new Muslims, dedicated
provision for Sisters and more programs that introduce non
Muslims to tenants of Islam.
Now we are reaching out for your help, in order to
maintain and develop these crucial services.
Abu Hurayra said that the Messenger of Allah, may
Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "When the son of
Adam dies, his actions are cut off except for three - an
on-going sadaqa and knowledge which brought benefit and a
virtuous son who makes supplication for him." [Muslim]
As you will appreciate our community is in desperate need
of sacred education, inspirational programmes and qualified
scholarship. Unity Foundation with the help of our teachers
hope to continue to fulfil this need ; God willing, your
kind donations (sadaqa) will enable us to do this!
You may already support Unity Foundation by attending
classes, or supporting our one off programmes; we would like
to sincerely thank you for that support.
Can you Continue to Support us in this Vital Mission?
In order to expand on our current level of service and
to continue to strive towards our long term goals, a firm
foundation of financial support is needed.
This plea is a real opportunity for YOU to help Unity
Foundation continue to fulfil (OUR) communal obligation (fard
kifayya) of educating individuals / our communities through
the spread of truly beneficial knowledge.
Just imagine; your financial contributions supporting the
spread of sacred knowledge, however big or small will
continue to earn you blessings as long as those you've
helped learn continue to benefit!!

Why donate?
The benefits are innumerable, here are a few…
|
1. Benefits
and rewards for generations
|
When you contribute to Unity Foundation, you are
facilitating the spread and use of beneficial Islamic
knowledge now and in the future! Insha’Allah, the net
effect of your gift will be felt throughout the
community (and beyond) for generations and will be
rewarded for ever by Allah (swt) through His Mercy
because Islamic education is a type of ongoing charity (sadaqa
jariah). |
|
|
2. Meeting a communal obligation (fard al-kifaya)
Every Muslim has certain individual obligations (fard
al-‘ayn) such as prayer (Salat) and charity (Sadaqa/Zakat)
for which they are responsible. However, Allah (swt) has
also made certain things obligatory on the community as
a whole (fard al-kifaya)– (although not every individual
has to take part in them him or herself), all members of
the community are responsible for ensuring these are
fulfilled. As a community and as Muslims, we must ask
ourselves whether we are fulfilling the much needed
communal obligation of Muslim adults seeking and
transmitting sacred knowledge. Are enough Muslims
studying to meet the needs of the community (men and
women)? If not, what are we doing about it?
Have you ever considered the reward in supporting
students of knowledge to learn their religion whist also
encouraging more people to take up the path?
Via Unity Foundation you can relieve yourself of this
obligation by supporting our adult classes program with
a regular donation! |

Demystifying Islam
Many Muslims complain that Islam is misunderstood in the
West and that ‘the media’ always portrays our religion
and communities in a bad light.
Via interfaith dialogue and our celebrated ‘Demystifying
Islam’ program Unity Foundation continue to convey
positive, accurate information about Islam. The D.I
programmes are designed to quash misconceptions and set
the record straight about our deen, via accessible
seminars and community gatherings aimed at non Muslims
and public agencies etc.
Funding this program will insha’Allah help us reverse
negative portrayals as we facilitate ground breaking
dialogue, using world renowned English speaking scholars
who not only have a secure grasp of God’s religion, but
are also confident and clear about how to articulate
Islam to western society. |

4. Many
Muslims are unaware of the necessity of
traditional knowledge. Those of us that have
been blessed with this understanding have the
responsibility to assist students of knowledge.
|
It is a sad fact that many Muslims do not appreciate the
necessity of traditional knowledge; many do not even
have a conception of the term and what it constitutes.
They may associate a traditional scholar with the ‘local
imam’ and us such calls for ‘more scholars’ are likely
to be met with indifference in some quarters. Those of
us who have been blessed with an awareness of fiqh,
aqeedah, madhahib and the other facets of traditional
knowledge must take on the responsibility of supporting
new students of knowledge as so few in the community are
aware of the need. |
|
|
5. Seek the
pleasure of Allah Most High by helping his deen
We cannot help Allah Most High who is free of all need
but we can draw closer to him by helping his deen. It is
in the nature of man to help that which he loves and if
we love Islam we should do all we can to help it,
protect it and ensure its continuation and enrichment.
Enabling students of knowledge to enrich their
communities or become qualified scholars is one of the
surest means of achieving this goal.
A donation to Unity Foundation will insha’Allah (God
willing) facilitate these benefits and more. |
