Welcoming Ramadhan '09
Half day course, Taught by:
Shaykh Atabek Shukurov Nasafi, as part of our
'Islamic Essentials' program.
The month of Ramadan is a time for spiritual
reflection, prayer, doing good deeds. The fasting is
intended to help teach Muslims self-discipline,
self-restraint and generosity. It also reminds them
of the suffering of the poor, who may rarely get to
eat well. It is common to have one meal (known as
the Suhoor), just before sunrise and another (known
as the Iftar), directly after sunset. This meal will
commonly consist of dates, following the example of
the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon Him. The fast
will often be broken by different Muslim families
coming together to share in an evening meal (known
as Iftar).
“Ramadan is the (month) in which was sent down
the Qur’an, as a guide to mankind, also clear
(signs) for guidance and judgment (between right and
wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his
home) during that month should spend it in fasting,
but if anyone is ill, or on a journey, the
prescribed period (should be made up) by days later.
Allah intends every facility for you; He does not
want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to
complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him
in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be
grateful.”
Qur’an, Al-Baqara, 2:185
The particpation in this half day course will
insha’Allah have enhanced the students ability to
adhere to the necessary laws of Ramadhan whilst also
enhancing the spiritual journey within the sacred
month in acquiring closeness to Allah and his
beloved Messenger, Upon Him Be Peace. |

Fortnightly 'Hanafi
Fiqh' and the 'Stories of the Companions of the
Prophet' (saw) classes. Taught by; Shaykh Atabek
Shukurov Nasafi, as part of our eagerly anticipated
'Islamic Essentials' program.
'Fiqh' is the science of Islamic law extracted
directly from the Qur'an and Sunnah that complements
the Shariah with evolving rulings/interpretations of
Islamic jurists. These classes cover the observance
of obligatory (fard) Islamic rituals, morals and
social rulings, and facilitate the student gaining a
deep understanding of how to fulfill his or her
duties to Allah, (God) our Creator, via practical
guidance.
The enquiring student God willing, will have gained
a 'must have' knowledge of the rules of God, which
concern the actions of persons who are themselves
bound to obey the law and respect what is required (wajib),
forbidden (haraam), recommended (mandub),
disapproved (makrooh) merely permitted (mubah).
The course content aimed to have enabled the student
to apply what is taught in his or her daily life in
a practical way, covering a wide array of real life
scenarios; each class being two hours in duration.
The first hour Covering 'Fiqh' and the second
covering 'Stories of the Companions of the Prophet'
(peace be upon him).
'' All our classes are taught in English and are
